INTEMPORALITÉ ET MYTHOLOGIE
« Alain Fouray réalise une série d’images de robots/jouets japonais des années 50/60, tour à tour étranges, familières et ludiques. Ayant choisi de les mettre en scène comme de vraies sculptures, il recourt à un protocole scénographique précis et récurrent, fond noir, lumière rasante, pour mieux révéler leur richesse plastique et la part de mystère dont ils sont chargés. Ces créations, intemporelles et mythologiques, mécaniques et futuristes, nous renvoient à ce face à face entre l’homme et son avenir.
Il rend ainsi hommage aux artistes qui les ont conçus et à l’exceptionnelle collection de David et Robin Corcos. »

TIMELESSNESS AND MYTHOLOGY
« Alain Fouray has produced a series of images of Japanese robots/toys from the 1950s and 1960s, which are in turn strange, familiar and playful. Having chosen to stage them as real sculptures, he uses a precise and recurrent scenographic protocol, black background, low light, to better reveal their plastic richness and the mystery they are full of. These creations, timeless and mythological, mechanical and futuristic, remind us of the face-off between man and his future. It is a tribute to the artists who designed them and to the exceptional collection of David and Robin Corcos. »
