RÉINVENTER LA MATIÈRE
En nous conviant à regarder nos biens de consommation destitués de leur usage et à suivre ce processus de déconstruction, le photographe Alain Fouray nous livre des images qui donnent un « visage » sensible à la matière recyclée, soudain figée, comme en transit dans un cycle sans fin de réinterprétation du même matériau. Ses images ont ceci de paradoxal et d’artistique que leur réalisme radical nous ouvre, par analogie, des portes inattendues sur des mondes parallèles, familiers ou mystérieux, où abstractions et figurations nourrissent notre imaginaire.

REINVENTING MATERIALS
By inviting us to look at our consumer goods stripped of their use and to follow this process of deconstruction, photographer Alain Fouray delivers images that give a sensitive ‘face’ to recycled matter, suddenly frozen, as if in transit in an endless cycle of reinterpretation of the same material. His images are both paradoxical and artistic in that their radical realism opens unexpected doors, by analogy, to parallel worlds, familiar or mysterious, where abstractions and figurations feed our imagination.
